 Good afternoon Kast, how are you?

I'm good, yourself?

Yeah good thanks. Firstly, I want to start off by asking you what the situation with you and Nasty crew is?

Nasty is Nasty brothers now - joined them in January 2007 for a Year we went strong - raves , logans show other shows etc - then it become a thing of the scene wasn’t feeding a lot of us - because we was all hungry and basically everyone wanted to focus on there own situations etc. Which is a good thing everyone’s doing well in there own areas. So ye nasty brothers is a strong look! But other than that were all cool – see each other about and, when I need to hear sum hard bars I still play Griminal and Nars or Shockers and get motivated Free younger, free Shockers

Who do you rate and listen to in Grime at the moment?

I listen to everyone and anyone, even if your not known I listen to you, mostly I listen to Monkstar, Fumin, Griminal, Bashy, Tiny, Nayta, Dot Rotten, Oranje, Skepta, Chipmunk, Voltage, Snoopy, Pmoney few others... but all of them variate in levels and have a lot to say.... I don’t really like mc’s who just entertain because I could watch Sponge Bob Square pants if I wanted to laugh. All those mc’s I mentioned have a lot to say about there life’s and others that are real and I can relate to. So yeah I keep up to date every Sunday and Monday I'm locked to Logans and Westwoods. It keeps me motivated and believing in this Grime scene.

So will there be any future collaborations with Griminal and Little Nasty?

Possibly, I'll colab with anyone if we got the right tune and concept.

At this moment in time what are you most focussed on, Beats or Spitting?

See what it is. I'm on an artist development ting right now. With my peoples Oranje and Jago - just developing our vocals, delivery... and going from " spitting " to recording artists... so I'm always mcing/spitting etc - sets all day - writing - record - mixdown etc. then when I cum home I jump on reason and just make something. I make beats more of inspiration. Like I heard Rudekid's " The Best " and said rah.. Let me try remix that and I did. Also I might hear some classical music and it makes me want to make sum mad strings symphony beat. I got a lot to say so spitting's always first.

You remixed 'The Best'? Where can people catch that?

Rudekid's fam so just done it quick, was on my myspace for a bit. It'll be on a free download Kast beats CD later in October still.

Nice, UKHH will definitely be promoting that! Now, you was involved in a madness with Scratcha a few months ago, can you explain your side of the story? Word was you stole the beat knowing scratcha never wanted you to lace it.

You know what, I'm on a ting of if I like a beat I vocal it. Me and Scratcha know each other, we spoke long time ago and i said griminal should vocal it and he said
“Na Dirty Doogz is doing sum girl tune on it”. I was like...kool. Then I got one CD with bare Grime on from the youngers and it was on there. The truth is I lost him sum p or whatever and people liked my version and it was a cunt to vocal it. But then I don’t know ...he made it worse for himself by phoning me on some late night ting shouting down the phone like he’s the guy then hanging up. To me that went past music then. After that he went on the forums and I got a call saying DVA's on the forum crying and tryna get everyone to gang up on you, so up until recently I was on a ting of when if I see him, It's on but I'm around people who focus me and I heard a few new hits in the studio and I lost interest in him, so I took the Nasty vocal down, so he can do what he wants with it.

After all this he release an EP saying '' FUCK KAST '' in it, so I'm going to reply with an EP soon called '' Fuck Pussyholes '', watch for that. Simple moral of this story is if a beat is on a signed album then the beat should not be getting played by 100 djs before the vocal release and he wonders how it got leaked. Other than that he's a very talented producer.

When was the point in your music career that you started getting big?

I got big from like 15, from the time man can repeat your bars, and know you MC and care.... your big. But I never MCed to get big just because I had a lot to say.

Was joining Aftershock a big help for you?

Not at all. I don't regret joining because I learnt a couple things but wasn't very beneficial nor a help I had to help myself.

So what is next for Kast?

As I said I'm developing myself right now. I just got a lot to say. A lot of rumours to set straight, a lot of people who I know listen to me to address and a lot of people want to hear music from me to relate to, hate on or be motivated by. So Dirtyfr3sh is the movement, our E.P is out 17th November, same day were on Logans then I’m hopping on Westwood and any other show after that.
